Madewell Review: Portland Stripe Scarf

The Madewell Portland Stripe Scarf comes in the color 'classic black' and retails for $58.00. The description on the Madewell website reads:

Supersoft and light, this oversized striped scarf is one you'll want to snuggle into.

Wool.
78 7/10"L x 38 3/5"W.
Dry clean.
Import.

Now that I live in Montana, I definitely have more of a need for scarves than I did when living in Florida. This means that I am constantly on the lookout for new ones to add to my wardrobe. The scarves that I am interested in finding right now not only need to be pretty, with colors that will work with my wardrobe, but also need to be warm in order to help protect me from the elements as the weather continues to cool down.

Madewell always offers a variety of lovely scarves, so I took advantage of the 30% off promo they ran several weeks ago to order the Portland Stripe Scarf, and was not disappointed at all once it arrived...

The wool is soft, warm, and the colors in the scarf are only slightly darker than the image on the Madewell website. Plus it is oversized and can easily be worn as a wrap, as well.

I personally love the scarf, am very happy with my purchase, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a well-made, pretty, and versatile scarf.

What are your thoughts on the Madewell Portland Stripe Scarf? Have you seen it IRL, or perhaps even tried it on? Do you already own it, or have it on your wishlist? Please do share...I always love to hear from you! :)

***If you have a Madewell review that you would like to share online with myself and other readers, please feel free to email it to me, and I will be more than happy to post it.

  1. I bought it during the last promo and I love it! Have worn it twice already. Perfect transition scarf in NorCal where it is chilly in the mornings and warm during the day. It will be perfect for fall, winter and spring.

    1. Hi mack! I'm so glad you love your scarf, too! Aren't the colors just so lovely and versatile? Also, I was wondering if the camo tunic worked out for you. I am having to return mine because it's too small, but I'm not sure if I'll get a larger size just yet. Did you keep yours?

  2. So glad you posted a review- this is on my wishlist but wasn't sure about it yet. I'm glad you mentioned it could be a wrap. I definitely want a new scarf that opens up to be nice and big, and this sounds like the one!

  3. Hi Melissa, I love this scarf! The colors & plaid are lovely. I have one in similar color combo that I had gotten from Banana Republic several years ago. But I need to put this on my wish list for when is goes on sale. I am a huge fan of Madewell scarfs & own many. I have never been disappointed in their quality. I also loved the one you featured from Target...store pick up was my only option as well. I will put this on my wish list as well. Hope all is well with you & your family! Hugs, Dawn

    1. Hi Dawn! I really like Madewell scarves, too! That is one of the things that they do very well, IMO. I hope you're able to get this one eventually. :)

Btw, I picked up my Target scarf today. It's very nice IRL, and super soft, too. Plus I love the colors of the plaid.

The family and I are doing well. Jake and I just got back from Kalispell a little while ago, and he is resting after having his wisdom teeth removed today. Hope all is well with you and your family, too! Big hugs back! :)
